Most of my close friends know my obsession with Monsters Inc. This movie is my all time favorite Disney movie. For those who worked at Mercy with me on the second floor knew my favorite room was 2319. When we first moved to the floor, no more than ten minutes passed before I realized we had a room 2319. For those who have not seen the movie when the monster George Sanderson walks out of a kids room he has a white sock stuck to his back. We have a 2319 (white sock, w is letter 23 and is letter 19) and the CDA (child detection agency) arrives to decontaminate George and the scare floor.

Everyone I work with in endo loves Halloween and to dress up. Originally we were going to do Shrek until Ally and her family were dressing up as Monsters Inc characters. She and Clare asked if we wanted to switch. That was heck yes as I had wanted to dress up at mercy all those years ago but never organized it. So we had sign ups and I picked George. Just like last year with SpongeBob as time passed we came up with more and more props. It started with the tag line “We scare because we care”. I wanted to say “We scope because we care”. Clare who is Sully came up with the final slogan. I then decided it would be cool to make the endo doors look like Boo’s door. She’s the little girl who enters monsters world and Emily dressed as her.

Dr. Heavey is very prim and propers so I told him he would be the abominable snowman and to wear a solid white shirt and navy pants. I made him lemon snow-cones to hold. Dr. Cockerell was off but she decided to be the fake kid in the bed that the monsters practice on. I’m not going to lie I had no idea and when I saw the dummy in room 2 it scared the crap out of me. Clare decided we should hang up doors in the recessed area between the two rooms. She figured out how to print them and I laminated.

Dr. Aymerich was not into Halloween and by looking at the photos it looks like we twisted his arm. I almost cut him out of my photos as I have waited years and we had so much fun. Angie is Roz and her costume was the best!! She printed the photos and hung up in endo room. Dr. Heavey may have drawn a smile on his partners face.

Ashley is over twenty weeks pregnant and is Mike. I made the eye for her shirt just like I did for Emily when we ran the Disneyland half marathon back in 2013. Ally is Randall. Her costume was cute. Because I’m insane I made my sock look just like the movie. A shout out to my mom for teaching me embroidery when I was a kid. A few flower petals and it looked just like the movie.

I almost forgot CeCe who is Cecilia. I helped her make her headband. We decided each snake required 9 pipe cleaners which made the headband super heavy. She asked if she should have an eyeball and I said of course and used my cricut to make it for her. I also managed to downloads Monsters Inc font to my computer and send it to my cricut without frustration or cursing.

Mole Moral ~ Good things come to those who wait. This is the best group of people I have ever worked with! They made this one of the very best Halloweens ever!!
